Hey Reader,
I’ve been noticing a lot over the last few months about the state of… everything, lol. The world, the design world, the online business world, creativity, social media, AI, fucking all of it. 😅
And for once, I’ve been writing down a lot of my thoughts and reflections—and not actively sharing them. Which has felt really fucking nice, and refreshing, and liberating, tbh. I’ve been in business and in the online world for a long ass time, sharing SO MUCH of my work and my thoughts and my process, but sometimes everything just feels like its filled with noise and the same opinions and chaos being thrown around, and you have to know when to take a step back from all of it… So, I did.
But lately I’ve been doing some more reflecting specifically around the design, business, and creativity arenas. And I’ve come to a realisation about some shit, and some things I want to change. 😉
I don’t think its a secret anymore that we’re seeing huge shifts in the use of AI, with a lot of people who were super gung-ho for it in the beginning now taking a step back and being actively against it, for a multitude of reasons.
I find myself moving between feeling completely disheartened by the state of it all, and also feeling so much fucking hope for creativity and design, because everyone seems to be waking up to the effects of AI as an environment, but also how to use it, or not, within the realm of creativity.
I’m also just sick of seeing shitty AI-designed posters that all look the same, I’m sick of reading copy that is so obviously 100% AI generated, and I’m sick of seeing people hand over all of their creative agency to a fucking robot. 🙃
Creativity is the thing that’s going to matter more, not less. We need your humanity, your crazy ideas, your messy and complex perspectives, your unique vision, your essence that no external tool or AI bullshit could even come close to replicating. 🤎🌊
With that being said, I realised there’s something I can do about this, so I’m going to be lowering the pricing of some of my offers.
This isn’t really about making them cheaper, it’s about access.
This shit is my life’s work. It’s templates and learning the thinking behind design and creating the shit you wish existed, and I want more of you out there making cool stuff. Not people who’ve outsourced the whole job to a prompt box, but people who still want to learn the actual thinking — the why behind the layout, the why behind the brand — and then go make something that’s actually yours.
To start with, I’ve got 3 products for you with new prices. 😎
The Build Studio — Was $597 CAD, now $197.
This is where your ideas finally get taken seriously — a Notion toolkit that walks you from “is this even a yes for me” through building, messaging, and launching, so your work has somewhere to live and grow instead of dying in your notes app.
Summer Design Club — Was $639 CAD, now $197.
A laid-back, learn-at-your-own-pace trio of design workshops that show you how to build better brands, cleaner layouts, and custom-feeling Squarespace sites without overthinking the entire process.
The Layout Library — Was $197, now $97.
The Layout Library is a Notion database of 60 pro-designed wireframes with the “why” built right in, so you never have to stare at a blank screen or fake your way through a layout again, just pick one, make it yours, and get on with the actual work.
Go make something crazy and weird and completely, unmistakably yours. Go overthink a font pairing for forty-five minutes because it actually fucking matters to you. Go build the thing that’s uniquely you—not a robot’s best guess at what “good design” looks like this week.
Stop outsourcing your creativity. Go make cool shit. 😊
Back soon,
